Bollywood Actress Katrina Kaif Mad about Jewellery

Although Katrina Kaif has no plans to get married anytime soon, she has already decided the color of her wedding outfit. The actress, who walked the ramp at the inauguration of the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) to showcase the Nakshatra bridal collection, will go green on her wedding day.

"At the moment I don’t know when I’ll marry. I had once said 2012, but for that too I have two years to go. Such things are not planned. You never know what’s in store for you, but whenever it happens, I would love to wear something in green. I don’t know, why, but I have this thing in my mind," Katrina told reporters.

Talking about her association with the brand, the 26-year-old said: "It’s an iconic brand because its not just a jewellery brand, it symbolises the Indian woman."

Kats loves jewellery, especially jewellery that is gifted to her.

"Jewellery is something that becomes all the more special when it is gifted. My favourite piece of jewellery is a pendant that was gifted to me. It has a religious symbol on it, something from the Quran. That piece is very special to me," added Katrina.

Lara Dutta is excited about her role in Farhan Akhtar’s sequel Don 2. The actress has been gearing up for the role and is busy taking workshops and working out as the role is a glamorous one.

Sources inform, “Lara has been pitted against Priyanka Chopra in the movie. As Priyanka has already lost weight and is in one of her fittest avatars as the host of Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi, Lara definitely has some competition there.”

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is the leading woman endorser of the year, according to a report by AdEx India, a division of TAM Media Research.

Kareena had a 45 percent share of celebrity endorsements on television during 2010, says the report.

The actress has featured alongside three popular male celebrities - M.S. Dhoni, Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar. She currently endorses brands like Airtel, Kurkure, Sony Vaio and Gitanjali among others.

"Kareena has reached phenomenal heights. She had the maximum ad volumes of celebrity endorsement (FMCG brands) on TV during 2009 as well," said a source.

As far as movies are concerned, the actress has Karan Johar’s "We Are Family", her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan’s home production "Agent Vinod" and "Golmaal" sequel.

Sonam Kapoor, daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, has finally tasted box office success with the latest rom-com I Hate Luv Storys. The pretty damsel is now neck deep busy in work but she would like to dabble in film direction as well someday.

“My first love is acting and I will be acting till the day I die. I love my job. But, yes, the field of direction is always open for me. I think I shall direct in a couple of years. I am literally itching to direct,” Sonam is quoted as saying by a news agency.

However, Sonam said direction isn’t going to happen anytime before a decade.

“I need a little more time to figure out what I want to direct and take care of the script and such logistics. But, honestly, I would like to give myself at least 10 years before I go behind the camera once again,” she added.

Sonam is presently shooting for Pankaj Kapur’s film Mausam with Shahid Kapoor in Scotland.

“I am experiencing four seasons in a day here in Edinburgh... the ’mausam’(weather) is so unpredictable here... but I am loving it,” she said.

But Sonam would soon be returning to Mumbai to promote her upcoming film Aisha.

Their hotel was quite a distance from the shooting location and Salman often used to make Sonakshi walk from the shooting site to hotel at the end of the day. He had even set up a gym there and would invite Sonakshi to work out with him.

Salman also kept a carefully watch on Sonakshi’s diet. Oily and fatty food was strictly prohibited to her. She was only given salads to nibble on.

Ajay Devgn on his film Once upon a time in Mumbai

Bollywood’s intense actor Ajay Devgn, who is said to be playing the character of Haji Mastan in the controversial film "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai", denies any direct resemblance to the late Mumbai underworld don but admits that he was a point of reference.

"Haji Mastan is just a reference. Whatever film we do, it’s a reflection of society. I am not doing his life story. It’s just a reference point. The film is absolutely fiction and every character has its own energy and attitude," Ajay, 41, told IANS in an interview about the film that has been dragged to court.

"Some similarities might emerge. Someone asked me that in the film the character is in love with a heroine, which apparently happened in real life too, and he works in the dock, but Amitabh Bachchan did that too in ’Deewar’".

Haji Mastan’s daughter Shamshad Supariwala has filed an additional affidavit in a Mumbai court against Balaji Telefilms, the producers of "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai", demanding that the family be shown the film before its release.

This is not the first time the movie directed by Milan Luthria has faced trouble. Earlier, Haji Mastan’s adopted son Sundar Shekhar alias Suleiman Mirzha filed a suit for an injunction order against its release, but a city civil court refused.

The court, however, directed the makers of the film to carry a disclaimer that it has no resemblance to the life of Haji Mastan, who died in 1994.

Ajay says it was a report that came out a long time back that landed the film in legal trouble.

"One story came out long back and that became a perception. I don’t think anyone of us further has mentioned anywhere that I am playing Haji Mastan," said Ajay.

"When the case is in court I can’t comment but am sure they will understand once they see the film," he added.

Ajay can’t recollect too many stories of Haji Mastan.

"I must have heard of Haji Mastan in my childhood but can’t recollect what exactly. But there was something about Haji Mastan which made people say good things about him too," said Ajay.

The National Award-winning actor insists that his character in "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai" is more similar to Robin Hood, unlike his role in "Company" (2002) where again he had played a don.

"He is like Robin Hood. He is romantic; he has a sense of humour, which was not there in ’Company’. When so many shades come to a character and when it shows that the person at heart is good, the perception of performance changes," said Ajay.

Sheduled to release Friday, the underworld saga also stars Kangana Ranaut, Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai.

The actor prefers not to connect with his characters too deeply. "When you are playing a character you have to like that character and think from its point of view, otherwise you can’t play that character. But I don’t connect much with the character.

"If you think a lot about the character, you will go mad and forget which is you in real life. Most people become mad if they keep living the character even after going home. The first thing you should learn is to switch off," he said.

But Ajay did take a long time to come out of the character of Bhagat Singh which he played in "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" (2002).

Manji took it upon himself to break the mountain and make a road. It took him 22 years to do so but he made the road for his fellow villagers before he died. Jha is currently finalising Manoj Bajpai to play the role of Manji.”

South Indian Actress Trisha is glad she was able to make it for the last few days of the promotion of her debut Bollywood film, Khatta Meetha, which has Hindi star Akshay Kumar in the lead.

The movie, directed by her mentor Priyadarshan, is hitting the marquee today. “It was heartwarming when Akshay himself called me personally and asked me to join him for his promotions of KM at Mumbai,” discloses the pretty actress, who is just back in her hometown after a hectic shooting schedule with Kamal Haasan in Venice. She continues saying, “As part of the promo for KM, Akki and I, along with noted choreographers Saroj Khan and Pony Varma, will be appearing as judges for a popular children’s dance reality show on a leading Hindi TV channel. Children will perform to the songs from Khatta Meetha and I am thrilled about this whole new concept,” she flashes her wide smile.

Trisha will also watch the film along with her costar and technicians at a grand premiere to be held today at Mumbai’s PVR Theatre. “I am going to be with Akshay for every publicity and promo for KM till he leaves for Toronto on July 25 to shoot for his next film,” informs the Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya star.

Trisha admits that she was a little reserved on the sets initially, and that it was Akshay who went all out to make her comfortable. “I wasn’t interacting much with people during my early days on the sets of Khatta Meetha. Akshay came to me and told me that girls in Mumbai talk so much, while I was the opposite, as I was much quieter.”

Heaping praise on Akshay, she says, “He is a big star and could have easily restricted himself to his work, but he is such a down-to-earth person that he made an effort to put me at ease.”
In the film, Trisha plays a saree-clad Municipal Commissioner in a de-glam role. “Just because I wear sarees in my debut Bollywood flick, I don’t want people to brand me a serious actress and assume they are not going to see me in glamorous roles. I am looking forward to doing alluring roles in future projects”, she asserts.

The vivacious actress adds, “In fact, there is a song Naana Chi Taang in Khatta Meetha which reveals the glam side of me. The song is already topping the music charts!”
